Regional Capacity Building Programmes
In alignment with regional and national priorities for strengthening local manufacturing capabilities and sustainable health systems after COVID-19 pandemic, workforce development has become a critical pillar in advancing bio-manufacturing ecosystems. VACSERA has led a significant role in supporting regional initiatives for workforce development and capacity building in Africa and the Middle East through technical training, collaborative educational activities, industrial exposure programs, and contribution to regional bio-manufacturing development platforms.

Africa CDC Industrial Fellowship Programme in Vaccine Manufacturing
VACSERA hosted fellows from five African countries for a comprehensive, real-world biomanufacturing and industrial systems exposure. Sponsored by the regional capacity building hub for North Africa (EVMA-RCCN) under the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement.
By exposure to real manufacturing ecosystems unlike purely academic training environments, VACSERA hosted the industrial Fellowship fellows to provide them with exposure to operational manufacturing and industrial systems connected to real vaccine and biological production activities. Fellows are introduced to different components of the manufacturing ecosystem in blended training models combining theoretical and hands-on training during a full year fellowship programme.

Africa CDC Bio-manufacturing Fellowship Programme
A study tour enabling Africa CDC fellows to inspect biological manufacturing capabilities and advanced cold chain depots. Part of the strategic initiative targeting a sustainable health workforce of 12,500 professionals by 2040 and achieving 60% self-sufficiency in African vaccines.
VACSERA hosted the Africa CDC visit for fellows of the Bio-manufacturing Fellowship in a study tour enabling the fellows to understand the essential required bio-manufacturing capabilities for the Egyptian manufacturing ecosystem. VACSERA supported the implementation of the fellowship programme by assigning experts in the bio-manufacturing industry to support the delivery of multiple training modules over 24 months fellowship duration.
